My name is Martin Lormes and I am an IT geek.
I live near Hamburg, Germany. I work full-time as a Systems Engineer. Next to that day job I make a few extra Euros as an independent consultant, developer, and author. (My bosses know about that night job.)
Here’s a brief overview over things I have done:
I have been a speaker at FileMaker Developer Conferences in Phoenix 2003, 2004, and 2005.
I have contributed over 50 articles to the German print publication “FileMaker Magazin”. The web application I wrote and maintained for them ran from 1998 until March of 2010.
I have written a ton of code in Microsoft ASP, PHP, XML/XSLT, using FileMaker and MySQL databases. I have trained Software Developers in using FileMaker, MySQL, PHP, XML/XSLT , and Microsoft ASP.
I have been (and I still am) in charge of Windows and Linux servers, running (among other things) FileMaker and MySQL databases, IIS and Apache webservers, Postfix and Exchange mail servers, etc. I have trained Systems Administrators and Systems Engineers in using Microsoft Windows and Exchange, and trained Windows Administrators and Developers in using Linux.
If any of the things I write about on my blog are of interest to you and you would like to hire me: you can contact me via E-mail to martinhh at gmail.com
